In the middle of October 2025, in the midst of the government shutdown, about half of the government employees from the CDC were laid off. It is about 1300 employees. Entire departments of this agency are closed, like departments that represent a kind of detectives in epidemics. Victims of the mass layoffs were CDC federal employees who work in mental health — which includes child and youth mental health, and which in turn includes autism spectrum disorders. Simple – the CDC data did not fit into the official and permitted narrative of the Trump pseudo-scientific and anti-scientific administration, so they decided to destroy it. Either totally or they will be replaced by what RFK (the US Secretary of Health under the Trump administration, Robert F. Kennedy Jr) called new blood – henchmen. The question is how legal it is to do something like this during the government shutdown, and that's exactly what the federal employee unions claim. But, 12.10. news arrived that some of them, more than half, had been reinstated.
All these dismissals, then returning to work, create tension, cause uncertainty, tension, despair and fear among employees, federal officials. Which is the goal.
dr. Angela Rasmussen, who documented the events as they unfolded, described it as a “premeditated murder” in her writings at the time. She wasn't exaggerating. The pattern of system dismantling started months earlier – for Valentine's Day.
CDC directors who go against RFK's wishes are fired, lasting less than the Macron government or Liz Truss. Anyone who, like Susan Monarez, asks for evidence and scientific integrity behind a decision, or the wishes of RFK and Trump, gets fired, as we can see from the interview that former CDC director Susan Monarez gave to Nature .
Why do I so persistently write about developments related to science and health in the USA, which are so far away from us? As I already emphasized in one of the previous articles, everything that happens in the USA has repercussions on the entire Western world, Europe and even us. Practically all anti-scientific tropes came from there, slightly amplified by the activity of Russia, which correctly sensed the points of polarization of Western society.
RFK triumphantly declared in October 2025 that he had “made proof that Tylenol causes autism.” This is a sentence that shows that the entire administration is resorting to pseudoscience and antiscience. When we want to prove something, then we cannot make a proof that is on the side of the desired thesis. An experiment is done, the experiment is repeated and it can either prove or disprove our hypothesis. So, it is a hypothesis that Tylenol, or paracetamol, causes autism in a child if the mother takes it while she is pregnant. And then the evidence is either on the side of the hypothesis or on the side of its refutation. Pseudoscience finds evidence for what it wants – what grandma likes, that's what she dreamed of.
There is also the statement that the baby is inside the placenta – babies are not inside the placenta, the placenta is a temporary organ that supports the baby, the baby is not in the placental tissue but in the uterus.
But there is a more problematic side to the decapitated CDC. The world, including our country, relied a lot on CDC data during the pandemic. There are also data and papers on NIH, Pubmed. Now that is destroyed. But this also means that any biological threat in the USA no longer has anyone who will be able to report on it, give recommendations. The CDC is losing its ability to detect and monitor the epidemiological situation. This includes diseases such as influenza, bird flu, diseases caused by contaminated food, Ebola. The US and the world have never been more vulnerable to biological threats than they are now.
Then, for those who don't notice, this is the final stage of the drive towards deregulation in the zone of late capitalism. This started in the Reagan-Thatcher era and now we are looking at the final act. Deregulation of any forms of social welfare, health care for the population. A complete Ayn Randian dream of laissez-faire capitalism. A world without rules, like in the movie Purge, a world where health is available only to the rich. Deregulation will spread to technology, information, markets, money, electronic currencies like Bitcoin, to citizen surveillance directed by the Trump administration and Palantir. Next in line for traumatization is the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and everything to do with climate change including the NASA departments involved. All this can easily be extended to Europe.
The creator of Project 2025, Russell Vought, a Christian nationalist who is behind the Heritage Foundation and is in President Trump's administration, once said that he wanted ” government employees to be traumatized, so that when they get up in the morning they don't want to go to work because they are seen as criminals… we want to traumatize them” . This is not a government shutdown but sabotage, kidnapping a country and bringing democracy to its knees. This is exactly the person who is in the administration, someone who heads the Office for Management and Budget.
The ultimate goal of everything is to disable the regulation of corporations, which is a prerequisite for massive enrichment, and the second is to disable the taxation system (make taxation unnecessary because there are no users), which is also a prerequisite for massive enrichment.
The attacks on Fauci and the CDC shooting are it. Since the pandemic, actually even before, the image of the government employee as evil has been created, especially for those who are in healthcare because it is easiest there – they make decisions related to our health and movement – let's remember the lockdown in the pandemic. They were the easiest target. This is a carefully created narrative of disgust and creating hatred towards scientists and doctors. Doctors and climate scientists are the most under attack, and the ultimate goal of all the disinformation that contaminated the public space was this – first a drop in trust, and then inciting hatred towards these people and professions.
This with the CDC is a very dark omen of things to come. We will live in a world where human rights and human dignity are despised and treated as a crime, in a world where truth will not be distinguished from falsehood, and life, education and health will be reserved only for the super-rich.
